Metro Presort cares about our community.
We believe people and businesses should help make the world a better place through giving and volunteering in the community. In the last few years, we have contributed our time and financial resources to several organizations.
We share this information with you not to announce Metro Presort’s contributions, but rather to inspire and encourage others to do the same. We find there is a certain satisfaction in the act of giving and volunteering. It brings warmth to our hearts, knowing that we have brightened someone’s day and made a difference in our community.
These are three of the many organizations we support:
Union Gospel
Mission
Since 1927, Union
Gospel Mission has been “Feeding the hungry, restoring
the addict and loving our neighbor…” Union Gospel
Mission was founded by 40 area churches to assist the needy
and hurting in Portland. Today, Union Gospel Mission remains
true to that vision through offering meals and Christian outreach
to the homeless and needy and providing addiction recovery
in the Life Change community.
Portland
Rescue Mission
Since
1949, Portland Rescue Mission has provided hope, transformation
and total life recovery for homeless people in our community.
The group offers much more than a meal and a helping hand.
Portland Rescue Mission’s goal is to achieve total life
recovery for every person to whom it ministers. Through its
ministry, people learn to grow, change and find new meaning
in their lives.
Pregnancy Resource
Centers
About
PRC: Since 1984, The Pregnancy Resource Centers of Greater
Portland (PRC) have helped more than 150,000 women and teens
who were unprepared for pregnancy, or faced a potential pregnancy.
We helped meet their emotional, physical and spiritual needs,
enabling them to make an informed decision regarding the life
of their unborn child. We provide direct resources for young
mothers and their babies through the first year, prenatal
training, parenting training, and referrals for housing, education,
health care, substance abuse, physical abuse, counseling,
etc. PRC began with one employee and a handful of volunteers.
We now operate six centers throughout the Portland Metro area.
In 2006 alone, we served nearly 10,000 new clients. For more
information, visit www.portlandprc.org.
